At Wecasa, our role is to ensure the quality of the sessions. To achieve this, we have created best practices videos to establish a standardised level of quality.

Our recommendation? By following them, you will increase your base of loyal customers ๐Ÿ‘‡

So, what do these best practices in massage involve?

Here's what client love!

๐Ÿงผ Upon arrival at your client's home, wash your hands (always remember to have hand sanitiser with you) and sanitise your massage table. This is reassuring and shows you care for hygiene and equipment maintenance.

๐Ÿ’†๐Ÿป When it comes to massage, a massage table is essential! Massaging clients on their beds is strictly forbidden.

๐Ÿงด As for equipment, using a neutral oil is ideal. Not all clients appreciate strong scents.

โ›” In the case of prenatal massage, essential oils are strictly prohibited as they can be dangerous.

โ“ Ask your client about their needs and expectations (pressure, tension, pain, etc.). It takes 2 minutes yet makes a difference in providing a personalised experience.

โŒ› In terms of timing, one hour of massage is one hour of treatment. This does not include the prep time, so we recommend arriving early to set up your equipment.

๐Ÿ”• A notification can easily ruin a massage. Don't forget to turn off your phone or switch to silent mode.

The little extras to create the "WoW" effect?

๐ŸŽต Suggest some background music. Remember, not all clients have the same taste in music, and some are not even found of relaxing music.

๐ŸŒธ Do you have a variety of massage oil scents? Fantastic, clients love having options. Feel free to let them choose.

These are recommendations, not obligations. We created those based on extensive client feedback. Trust us; you'll see the difference if you follow our recommendation.

Interested in getting a massage table for your appointments but need help with how to choose?

โ€‹We'll help you see things more clearly! ๐Ÿ‘‡

Being a professional at-home massage therapist without a table is like being a baker without an oven. Even though the investment might seem daunting, it remains essential. Having a good massage table comes with numerous advantages. It's the perfect equipment to provide comfort for your clients to relax and enjoy their sessions. To make the right choice, you need to consider the important criteria:

  • Size
    โ€‹
It would be best to find a balance between a table wide enough to accommodate all body types but not too wide to strain your back. Generally, standard sizes have widths of 70 cm or 76 cm. Also, pay attention to the length of the table, which varies from 180 to 195 cm. Tables equipped with a headrest can measure up to 210 cm. Before choosing a table, ask yourself: will your clients be exclusively female, or will you also be massaging men?

  • Height adjustment
    โ€‹
Most tables come with adjustable height legs. In most cases, this varies from 60 to 83 cm to accommodate a wide range of body sizes. Here's a tip to determine the correct height: your hips should be at the same level as the table, and your hands should touch the table flat.

  • Material
    โ€‹
There are generally two options. Wooden tables, known for their traditional appeal, are favoured by professionals who emphasise the ancient aspect of massage. Aluminium tables are often preferred as they are lighter.

  • Weight
    โ€‹
This is a crucial factor! The weight varies from 12 to 21 kilograms. To make them lighter, many are sold with less padding. Be careful not to compromise client comfort. The thickness and density of the foam contribute significantly to the feeling of well-being. It's also best to ask about the maximum weight the table supports.

  • Aesthetics
    โ€‹
Most tables are made of PVC leather, known for its easy maintenance and durability. We strongly suggest you always protect your table for hygiene and extended lifespan. Remember that the client won't see it since it will always be covered.

  • Prices
    โ€‹
Prices vary widely depending on the retailer. However, it's clear that a table under ยฃ100 will likely lack the essential features that guarantee quality and comfort. To help you make a decision, assess your needs and budget. Generally, we recommend considering tables with average prices starting from ยฃ150 to play it safe. Remember to look at the extended warranties, fast shipping, and free delivery. These are additional elements to consider when choosing a massage table.
